Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This site does not track you by default. Analytics and advertising scripts are not loaded at all until you give consent — the choice is stored in your browser and can be changed at any time via the “Cookie settings” button.
1. Who is responsible
Artur Poniedziałek
Website: https://bestin-it.com/
Email: contact@bestin-it.com
2. What is collected
- Nothing sent to third parties until you consent — with analytics and advertising declined, no tracking cookies are set and no data reaches Google.
- Privacy-friendly visit counting (always on, see section 3): which page was opened, where the visit came from, device category, time spent and how far the page was scrolled.
- Usage data in Google Analytics (only with analytics consent): pages visited, referrer, approximate location, device and browser.
- Advertising data (only with advertising consent): ad impressions and interactions.
- Contact data: your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter; name and email if you leave a comment.
- Server logs: IP address and request data, kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.
3. Visit counting without cookies
To know which articles are read, this site counts visits itself, without any third party involved. This measurement runs regardless of your cookie choice, and it is built so that it does not need your consent:
- Nothing is stored on your device — no cookie, no local storage. Consent under the ePrivacy rules is required for storing or reading data on your device, and none happens here.
- Your IP address is never saved. It is combined with your browser identification and a secret value that changes every day, turned into an irreversible hash, and then discarded.
- Because that secret changes daily, visits cannot be linked across days. Building a long-term profile is not merely forbidden here — it is technically impossible.
- The data never leaves this server and is not shared, sold or used for advertising.
The legal basis is legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: knowing which articles are useful, without surveilling anyone. If you would rather not be counted at all, you can block the request to /wp-json/bestin/v1/hit in your browser or ad blocker — nothing else on the site depends on it.
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
- Consent — Art. 6(1)(a): analytics and advertising cookies, and newsletter subscription (withdrawable via the unsubscribe link in every message).
- Legitimate interest — Art. 6(1)(f): cookieless visit counting described above, security logging and protecting the site against abuse.
5. Third-party services
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) — traffic analysis. Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies. Privacy policy.
- Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd.) — advertising. Loaded only after you accept advertising cookies. How Google uses data in ads.
- MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania) — newsletter delivery. Used only if you submit your address in a sign-up form. Privacy policy.
- Jetpack (Automattic Inc., USA) — site statistics and brute-force login protection. Automattic receives visit data and, for login protection, IP addresses. Privacy policy.
- SMTP mail delivery — messages sent from the site (contact form replies, newsletter confirmations) pass through an external mail server.
- Contact Form 7 — form submissions are delivered by email; their content is stored in the mailbox, not in a database on this site.
- WPForms — form submissions delivered by email.
- Google Fonts — typefaces are served from Google servers, so your IP address reaches Google when a page loads.
- Hosting — the site runs on servers in Poland; the provider processes server logs on our behalf.
6. Retention
- Cookieless visit records: rolling window configured on this site, then deleted automatically.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
- Newsletter address: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Comments: until deletion is requested.
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Your cookie choice: 12 months, then you are asked again.
7. Your rights in the EU, EEA and Poland
Under GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time — use the “Cookie settings” button, which is available on every page, and withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.
One limit is worth stating plainly: the cookieless visit records contain no identifier that survives the day, so there is nothing that could be matched to you. Access or erasure requests for that dataset cannot be fulfilled, because the data cannot be traced back to any individual — that is the point of the design.
You may lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa — uodo.gov.pl.
8. Your rights in the United States
If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA) or another state with comparable privacy legislation — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Texas — you have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights.
Personal information is not sold. Allowing advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising; declining them, or withdrawing consent later, stops it. This site also honours the Global Privacy Control browser signal: if your browser sends it, advertising and analytics are treated as declined automatically and you are not asked again. Requests: contact@bestin-it.com
9. Transfers outside the EEA
Google and Automattic process data in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. If you decline analytics and advertising, no transfer to Google takes place at all.
Use of artificial intelligence
Articles on this site are written with AI assistance. Large language models are used for drafting, editing, translation and summarising, and image-generation models produce some of the illustrations. Every article is reviewed by a human before publication, and the benchmarks, measurements and code samples are produced on real hardware and verified rather than generated.
This notice is provided in the spirit of the transparency obligations in the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), so that readers can tell where machine assistance was involved. Where an image is fully synthetic, it is marked as such near the image itself.
10. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect their data.
